The Seattle Kraken selected Brandon Tanev in the NHL's 2021 Expansion Draft on Wednesday night.
Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reported earlier in the day that the Kraken has "zeroed in" on Tanev, and he was correct.
Tanev was actually in Seattle and onstage during the broadcast on ESPN 2 for the announcement.
The Penguins tweeted, "Thanks for the passionate celebrations, the intense energy, and for being a great teammate. We wish you all the best, Turbo!"
