The Steelers have released guard David DeCastro.
The team made the announcement on Thursday afternoon.
GM Kevin Colbert told Steelers.com, "David was without a doubt one of the premier offensive linemen during his time with us. He helped us win a lot of football games, but it was David's consistency, reliability and professionalism that stood out more than anything else. We wish him the best moving forward in his career."
According to Mike Garafolo from NFL Network, sources say DeCastro has been having his ankle evaluated recently, which he had surgery on before last season, and he’s evaluating his future."
