PA Court Rules That Making "Gun-Like Gesture" With Your Hand is a Crime

A Pennsylvania court has ruled that making a "gun-like gesture" with your hand can be considered a crime.

According to the the Lancaster Crime Watch PA website, a man made that type of gesture in June of 2018 when walking by his neighbor's house. The neighbor felt insecure and called 911 to report it, and the man was charged with summary disorderly conduct.

He appealed the ruling, but this week that appeal was overturned when the higher court ruled that the gesture of "imitating the firing and recoiling of a gun...risked an altercation."

The man was ordered to pay $100 fine and court costs.
