Owsley Stanley (a.k.a. Bear) was the Grateful Dead's sound guy. He was also the world's very first mass- producing LSD chemist. EVERYBODY did Owsley's acid in the 1960's, including EVERYONE at the Monterey Pop Festival 1967! Jimi Hendrix lit his guitar on fire on stage during a song at Monterey Pop '67, tripping his ass off on "Monterey Purple," Owsley's latest batch. Owsley Stanley died in a car accident in Australia in 2011.
