Rick Allen crashed his Corvette in the English countryside on New Year's Eve 1984. His left arm was severed, doctors tried to reattach it unsuccessfully. Thanks to emerging technology, Rick was able to re-learn how to play drums with a series of foot pedals and other devices. He remains Def Leppard's drummer to this day, and he's a GREAT drummer too.
