Tommy Chong (Cheech & Chong) is 80 today. In September of 2003, he was sentenced here in Pittsburgh to 9 months in a federal prison and fined $20K for selling bongs and pipes over the Internet. The name of the sting operation that nailed Tommy was "Operation Pipe Dreams." Pittsburgh's own US Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan was a part of the prosecution team. Tommy is a prostate and colorectal cancer survivor, and he says marijuana use and various cannabis products helped him to beat both cancers.
