The lawsuit filed in Miami against Maurkice Pouncey, his brother Mike and the Pounceys' security detail is “upsetting and hurtful,” the Steelers’ center said today at St. Vincent College.

WINZ in Miami reported the civil complaint was filed Friday, according to Pro Football Talk, and stemmed from an alleged incident at a Miami nightclub.

The Pounceys' lawyer has claimed there was no altercation involving his clients and that “if the accuser continues to perpetuate these lies, we will bring action against him,” according to Pro Football Talk.

Maurkice Pouncey responded today at St. Vincent.

“I’m a man about everything,” he said. “Y’all know that every time I ever made a mistake any time in my NFL career I admitted to it. For something like this to happen and have no total involvement in it is upsetting and hurtful to me. You know it’s on my mind like crazy. Hopefully, it blows over.”

Pouncey said he has no concerns whatsoever about eventually being subjected to NFL discipline as a result of the alleged incident or the suit.

“No fear at all,” he said. “The only thing that sucks about it is I tried to keep a clean nose throughout this whole process this year. Having to deal with this, man, it sucks, it truly does.

“For something like this to happen, it’s truly unbelievable. I just want to apologize for any fans that take this the wrong way. You guys all know me and know the person I am. If people say bad things it sucks, but sometimes you gotta deal with that in life and move on.”
